2003-present

I volunteer once per month to cook and serve food to the homeless and working poor in Mesa.  We cook meals using local and donated foods and offer them to anyone in the community.  This is an amazing opportunity to help here in our own community.

SCIENCE TEACHER

2017

I volunteer at a local church to teach science to students in grade K-8. I teach a weekly class where students can learn about a particular science concept or scientist. The current 5 week session is based on Rube Goldberg Devices. I also run the Wednesday night homework club where students can come to get help with their assignments.

DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

2011-2016

I had the opportunity to work as the director of religious education from 2011-2016. This was a volunteer position but it included planning and directing Vacation Bible school, running weekly youth classes, organizing adult retreats, holding fundraisers, and sending the youth to camp. Every event I put on was free or cost a minimal amount, ensuring that everyone could participate. I am proud to say that the Christian Education Fund was never at a negative balance.
